Capabilities

Capabilities describe what the software can do, not just where files live.

This is the most important abstraction in Product Compass because it lets you and AI agents spot reuse.

Examples of capabilities:

• crawl a homepage
• classify a domain
• sync deployment status from a provider
• ingest API data into BigQuery
• map Shopify product variants to marketplace listings
• generate Docusaurus documentation from project metadata
• monitor queue status
• render provider status cards

A useful capability record should describe maturity, owner project, related files, dependencies, reuse potential, and which other product ideas it could help.
